There’s been an invasion in our home
A dark, strangling, toxic invasion ripping through the peace
Stopping us in our tracks, hobbies abandoned, music silenced
We’re impotent, immobile, mute.
Spreading it’s bile and bitterness
Tainting colours with it’s blackness and malevolence
Destroying lives until we all feel the pain it clings to
Until we ache with misery, despair.
But we cannot be destroyed or defeated
Because a pure innocence and decency exists
A light far brighter, reaching into the dark dusty corners
Wiping clean the cancer, leaving only love.
